Bulldogs
are not tolerant of heat or extreme cold. They need shelter from
the sun and cold weather.
-
It is important not to
overfeed a bulldog; they really enjoy eating. He should have a
thin layer of fat over the ribs, but the ribs should be easily felt.
We supplement our quality kibble with fresh veggies and fruits.
Our bullies will do most anything for apple slices.
-
Bulldogs tend to prefer
"couch potato status" after about age 3. They are quite
adaptable to outdoor exercise (temps of 80 degrees or less).
When we get the leashes out, our bullies wag their whole bodies in
excitement.
-
Bulldogs seldom bark.
They are not especially good watch dogs. However, their faces
can intimidate people who drop by.
-
The bulldog coat is short,
smooth and low maintenance. A good brushing twice a week or a
frequent rubdown with a rough cloth will keep him smelling fresh.
In hot weather, a little powder in the skin folds and under the tail
will give protection from chafing. They really enjoy a bath
every couple of weeks.
-
The bulldog's great talent
in life is loving companionship. He is easy going and loyal.
He needs and desires human attention.
-
Bully babies are unlike
any other pup. Their captivating personalities and roly-poly
bodies grab you by the heart strings. However, one should
consider seriously the needs of this special breed before making the
decision to adopt a bully. They are active and inquisitive as
puppies, and they are utterly dependent on their masters.
